The Orange Family History Group Library has been included in the Genealogy collection at the Orange City Library. Together we have some great resources! Click here to search the catalogue. Anyone is welcome to come to use these materials. The Library is open 7 days a week. Members of the Orange Family History Group are also often available to assist – let us know if you’re planning a visit and we’ll try to ensure that help is at hand!

If you’re unable to visit Orange City Library in person we also offer a RESEARCH SERVICE.

Who can use this research service?

Anyone, from anywhere in the world, wanting information about families from Orange and District.

What questions can you ask?

The Orange Family History Group can help you with any questions that can be answered using our collections at the Library and/or the resources available on the Internet…

How will we send the information?

We can send information to you either by e-mail or post. Let us know your preference.

What sort of answers will you receive?

We will try our best to provide you with a direct answer to your question (with details of the sources of the information). If this is not possible, we can advise you on appropriate resources you may wish to inspect personally or refer you to an appropriate agency or Web site.

How long will it take?

We will acknowledge receipt of your enquiry within 48 hours of receiving it. We will provide you with an answer as soon as practicable depending on the complexity of your request.

How much will it cost?

For most general research no charges are involved.

Large projects, or complex research may attract a fee of $40 per hour. We will always let you know if this is the case for your research.

Questions we can’t answer?

Sorry, but we are unable to search for information on families outside of the Orange District, do ongoing research, undertake lengthy newspaper searching or carry out student assignments.
